Limited Government Forum is a program of the Woodford Foundation for Limited Government. LGF was originally formed as a 501(c)(3) organization with the mission of helping to promote the ideas of individual responsibility and freedom in contrast to the tendency for people to turn to government for solutions to almost all social problems, aiming particularly at the Colorado Springs/El Paso County area. The 501(c)(3) status was ended in 2018.
We work closely with the UCCS Center for the Study of Government and the Individual (CSGI) and Cheyenne Mountain Civic Solutions (CMCS). The executive director of CSGI is Josh Dunn, professor of political science at UCCS. CMCS is headed up by Jon Stepleton and is engaged in promoting Stepleton's concept of "civil" versus "political" society. Programs of CMCS include the Pikes Peak Minority Opportunity Fund, "Bridges out of Poverty", an education initiative, a Nonprofit Excellence Initiative and a project aimed at significantly improving the local business climate. We also make "LGF Grants" to assist in the RISE program for SE Colorado Springs (80910/80916).
